Getting Tested is Important, Friend.

Living in Memphis, the importance of regular testing can’t be stressed enough. With Memphis ranked number two in the nation for new HIV transmissions, staying informed about your health is essential. Testing isn’t just for certain groups—it’s for everyone. HIV and STIs can affect anyone, no matter their race, gender, or sexuality. Knowing your status can help you to take charge of your overall health. At Friends For All, we care about making the testing process easy, accessible, and supportive. And did we mention free? I mean, the best friends always have the best deals!😎

Why Friends For All?

Listen, we know getting tested is scary. Here at Friends, we do everything we can to improve the HIV and STI testing process. First and foremost, we have a new building on Poplar Avenue where we offer several other resources outside of HIV and STI testing, treatment, and prevention. Why does that matter, you ask? Friends For All services are for everyone, so visiting our building isn’t stigmatizing- that means no one can assume you are there for HIV-related services. This makes visiting our building feel safer and more confidential than getting tested at a traditional clinic. Speaking of confidentiality, Friends For All will never share your personal information or testing results. So when it comes to keeping it private, your Friends got you!

On top of privacy, our team will give you immediate resources if you test positive for HIV. For our Mid-South Friends who test positive after a full-panel test, we offer RapidStart- this means we set you up with an immediate HIV care plan and additional resources before you leave our building! Our team members can help set you up with access to free fresh food, mental health sessions, living assistance, and more through our in-house departments. We can also offer your medication through our Friends For All Pharmacy located inside our clinic in the Cooper-Young area. A positive diagnosis is not the end. You’ll have support from Friends!

You have testing Options!

At Friends, we offer several different options when it comes to getting tested. Here are ways you can get tested for HIV and STIs for free at Friends For All:

  • Text for an Appointment: That’s right! You can text our team to get started with setting up an appointment. All text appointments happen at our Friends For All Clinic (formerly The Corner) at 806 Cooper St. If you text APPT to this number, a team member will get back to you to begin setting up your appointment.

    • Test Type: Our clinic offers two-site testing (urine and rectal) by appointment for chlamydia and gonorrhea. We also conduct a blood draw for syphilis and HIV. Full-panel test results are typically available within 2-3 business days. If you test positive, you will be given resources to begin an immediate care plan and get set up with a Friends For All team member to assess your other needs, including nutrition, mental health, and living assistance.

    • What You’ll Need: Services are provided to you free of charge, but if you have health insurance, please bring your insurance card(s). You must present a valid photo ID before our confidential services are provided.
