HIV TREATMENT
your TREATMENT options
HIV is no longer a death sentence. While there is no cure, it is now easier to treat than diabetes! Most people can take 1 pill a day and can reach undetectable status within 90 days of starting treatment- which means they cannot pass along HIV to a sexual partner. At this level, it is not possible to transmit HIV and you can expect to live a normal life expectancy.
Click one of the dropdown options below to view your timeline to undetectable status with the help of Friends For All! To begin your intake process now, click the button below to submit a self-referral.

At Friends For All, our Early Intervention Services (EIS) team is the first team you will meet when looking for resources, including HIV treatment. When you visit our main headquarters, our EIS team will assess your needs related to sexual health, behavioral health, nutrition, and living assistance. If you need HIV treatment, this team will be your main resource to help you reach undetectable status! Call us to get in touch with our EIS team! You can also get quick access to HIV testing and treatment from our team at The Corner by texting "APPT" to this number.
-
Once you have been tested and have received a positive HIV diagnosis, our EIS team will set you up with a medical appointment and start medication usually within 3 days of diagnosis. Most people will only need to take one pill a day for treatment.
-
After your first appointment, you will be assigned a Medical Case Manager who will assist with identifying and addressing needs such as insurance, housing, food, transportation, and mental health services.
-
Make sure you take your medication daily and attend all appointments. Most people will only need to see a doctor once every three months. Your care team will continue to check in with you monthly to help you get on the path to living your best life, whatever that means to you!
